PRESS RELEASE: Gatlinburg Wildfire Donations
/The Highland County Health Department and Highland County Emergency Management Agency are currently accepting donations for those displaced by the fires in Gatlinburg and surrounding areas in Tennessee. Items needed are personal hygiene items (soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, diapers, wipes, feminine hygiene products) and cases of water.
Our local truck will be leaving Friday night, so donations will be accepted in the office until 4 p.m. on Friday, December 2. Our office hours for drop off are Wednesday, November 30 until 5:30 p.m., Thursday, December 1 from 8 a.m.- 4 p.m. and Friday, December 2 from 8 a.m.- 4 p.m.
Additionally, immediate monetary donations of $10 can be made to the American Red Cross by texting the word REDCROSS to 90999. Cash or check donations by mail can be made by visiting redcross.org/donate. A donation form from the website must be sent if sending donation by mail.
